Community's Vigilance Leads to Safe Return of 47-Year-Old Resident |
Washington County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Zainab Alothman, the 47-year-old woman reported missing from Tigard, has been found safe in Multnomah County.
The community breathed a collective sigh of relief upon hearing the news.
Zainab was last seen leaving her residence near Southwest 150th Avenue and Sophia Lane in Tigard around 11 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025.
She was wearing a green shirt, black jacket, gray pants, and black shoes at the time.
Initially, authorities believed she did not use public transportation and lacked a cellphone, raising concerns about her safety.
However, investigators later discovered that Zainab had boarded public transit in Beaverton and was spotted on surveillance cameras in various locations across the Portland metro area.
This development shifted the focus of the search efforts.
Community members played a crucial role in the search.
A resident reported seeing Zainab near Southwest 135th Avenue and Scholls Ferry Road around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10.
Authorities urged locals to review home security footage for any signs of her between 5 a.m. on June 10 and June 11.
The Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude for the community's support and assistance in locating Zainab.
The collaborative effort underscores the strength and unity of the Tigard community.
